Help with deactivation

I no longer own the macbook and i cant deactivate from my account. Is there any way i can free up my activations to move to my new system. i cant afford to pay for serato sample again right now.

Hi, account.serato.com should show you all your devices and let you deactivate your old machine so you can activate your new one.

I don't have the computer that is registered and followed the instructions to e-mail support for it to be removed, so I could install Serato Sample on my new computer.

I have e-mailed multiple times and still no reply. Any suggestions?

I can see Holly replied to you yesterday, freeing up your existing Sample license activations - you should be ready to activate a further two computers from now on.

I looked up the email address tied to your Serato.com account and cannot find any Support requests to reset your Sample activations, but in order to get you up and running, I have gone ahead and actioned this on your behalf. Please try activating Serato Sample on your new computer.

Im having the same problem. One computer I know longer have and the other one wonèt deactivate, Can you deactivate both mine, I sent a request for help as well.

Hi, I have a similar problem. In May I replaced my old MacBook Pro with a new MacBook Air. I would like to use Serato Sample on my new computer, but I need to release the license from the old MacBook Pro that I no longer use. I wrote to Request Support back in May, but still no answer. Please help. Thank you.

Hi Tomas,

Sorry about that. I couldn't see any tickets from the email address tied to your account (perhaps you used a different one to submit the actual ticket?)

Either way, I have deactivated both machines from your Serato Sample license. You should be set up now to activate Serato Sample on your new machine.

Why is this NOT working the way that Serato has shown in the deactivation tutorial though? This is maddening...

Hopefully my request of deactivating one of my computers will be done today but I sending this msg here also if it's not :-)... This is the ticket #976536

Maybe someone here also can tell what the button on the left side of the velocity button do at the top?

Hey there,

Sorry you're having trouble. 2.0 brings the ability to remotely deactivate Sample, but with 1.4.1 or earlier, users must still deactivate in the plug-in by logging out, or contact Support to have their computers remotely deactivated.

The caveat to this, is if you had reached your maximum activations on 1.4.1, and moved to 2.0 (the license activations are version specific).

Here are the latest steps for activation in 2.0 or higher: support.serato.com

And here you can find remote deactivation steps, if using 2.0 or higher: support.serato.com

Please help me with this same issue. I cannot use Serato Sample at all right now until the old macs I used years ago are deactivated. I have no access to those old dead macs.

By the way Rastan just to be sure, did you try the steps here support.serato.com and they didn't work? I was using an old version of Seato Sample. Not sure which number but I had not used it since 2020 if that is any help. Support has reached out, but it's still now showing they are deactivated yet. I wrote the support team back to ask for help again.

Sorry for the wait.

Existing activations on your Sample license have been cleared - I have alerted Ray who is assigned to your ticket of this as well.

I'd strongly recommend you download the latest version, if you hadn't already:
serato.com

The activation steps below show the process with Serato Sample 2.0: support.serato.com

But as John has suggested, if using Sample 2.0 or higher, activations can also be remotely activated as needed, using steps from: support.serato.com
