This is fantastic however I am a streamlabs user. Is there a way to connect this extension so it is triggered when I go live via streamlabs? I cant seem to find any help with this so far.

Yes, same but for OBS. Thanks!

The Serato Now Playing Twitch Extension will work fine with OBS and Streamlabs – basically it sits right at the end of the streaming pipeline as a layer on top of everything else.

Note however, that the Extension needs to be installed and configured via the Twitch Extension marketplace, here - dashboard.twitch.tv

See below for Support articles on downloading and configuring the Extension:

Tried to hook this up to OBS Streamlabs, but it doesn't pop up anywhere. I followed all the guidelines, activated on Twitch, but no... not seeing it anywhere. Would love to use this...

Hi Serato team! Thanks for this feature! Instructions were great.
I ran into an issue which I don't know if it's a feature or a bug as it's a little confusing…

a) I can't see the overlay while looking at the stream preview in my Twitch mod view. I also can't see the overlay while just looking at my own channel. I am however able to see it while looking in Safari's private browser or while logged out. Is it supposed to behave like that?

b) does my live playlist have to be set to private or public or maybe that doesn't matter?

Suggestion: Placement isn't really optimal. Top and bottom/left and right could be a lot more closer to the edges
Cap65 5:43 PM - 13 February, 2021
It would be nice to have free placement. (not that I see it in my stream...)

Most of us have a layout for Twitch of OBS and this doesn't really fit it now.

But furtherone, nice feature (if I get it to work).

works fine for me. very happy with this feature

Streamelements support will be nice so one can use it as a browser source in OBS or SLOBS

This is a great feature, there have been a few suggestions of how it can be improved, custom placement etc...

My big issue with the extension is that I can almost watch the track change in real time on the overlay as soon as I put the upfader up on the track that is coming in, even with the Stream Latency Compensation set at 30s, it kind of gives away the track that's coming in before it actually is implemented into the mix.

That would be a great fix if that could get worked out, but other than that I've found this to be a great overlay, thank you Serato team for this one, it's a great addition to my streams.

Thanks for the feature suggestion – more flexibility re placement seems like a popular request so will explore this for a future release of the Extension.

a) Are you experiencing this issue with other Twitch Extensions or just Serato Now Playing? Unfortunately I wasn't able to reproduce this. Could potentially be a bug on Twitch's end.

b) This shouldn't matter - both private and public playlists will display in the Twitch Extension

Thanks for the reply Nicmaw, just wanted to drop in and give some further feedback.

Have used this on about 3-4 streams now, it seems that when you adjust the Stream Latency Compensation and click save, it's not saving that adjustment. Everything else, is fine and reacts when changed and saved, but it seems that the Latency is not saving when you click save.

Will forward more feedback as I have it.

I can confirm this. Changing scroll and latency doesn’t activate the save button

Hi! Ok, so I did a quick show of hands from my viewers during my stream tonight.

Nobody could see the tracklist in the Twitch app itself.
Users watching on Chrome and Firefox could see it.
I myself could see it private browser mode on Safari but not in the regular browser. Nor in the Twitch app itself either. Tried turning Ad Guard on and off but that didn’t have any effect.

This is the only extension I have so I can’t compare unfortunately

Same here. If I’m checking my stream through a web browser on my laptop I can see the Serato extension on the screen, but not if if I’m watching via the app on iPhone or iPad.

I was monitoring my stream yesterday on app and didn’t see the NowPlayin. I just thought it was broken and didn’t bother checking via chrome.

They need to figure out a way to make it a source in OBS in addition to it being a Twitch extension

Thanks for alerting us to this! Definitely a bug – from a quick test with the scroll speed slider it does seem to save the changes (via the preview) but the slider itself is reset when reopening the config page. Will dig into further

Thanks for reaching out. This version of the Extension hasn't been enabled for Mobile which is why you won't be seeing it on the Twitch App. This will be planned for a future update

Another thing I noticed a couple of nights ago, although I suspect it was just a bug in that particular instance, is that it was getting ahead of itself. It was showing the track I was cueing, not the now playing track. I’ll keep an eye out to see if it happens again.

This is an excellent extension. The only thing I want is to be able to have more positions in the drop down list.

I have a perfect spot to place it but I can't currently.

Hi guys,

I've experiencing issues with the 2.5.0. Beta. The "Start Live Session" button won't show up in the history tab, so i am unable to link my Serato to the extension.

Serato Live Playlist is enabled.
Rane Seventy Two & Phaser connected
MacOS 1.15.7
MacBook Pro 13/2016

And is there a plan to enable this extension as a browser source for OBS? This would allow custom placement too :)

Thanks already

Nevermind. I'm a moron... Haven't had the 72 cable plugged in on the back....

Still the browser source option would be amazing :)

I have a workaround that lets you place the widget in your scene in OBS or anything else that supports window sources and cropping filters. This lets you place or size it anywhere in your stream, and as a bonus since it's part of your streamed video it will show up for mobile viewers too!

Open a browser window on your streaming system. This needs to be logged in to the Twitch account you stream with (this is why it has to be a window source and not a browser source).

In that browser, go to the Serato Now Playing Extension Configuration in your Twitch dashboard. The "Preview" in this panel is live, showing what the live playlist things you're playing, so you can use this window in OBS. But you of course don't want to show all the rest of the config stuff in your scene. That's where the crop filter comes in. Everybody's browsers and screen layouts are different, so some trial and error is involved, but you can then crop that source down to be just the preview widget.

Once you're happy with the cropping, you can resize or move that source into whatever scene you like! It's kind of a pain to get set up, but once you've got that it works really well!

This makes but yeah that is a few extra steps.

It's too bad we can't use it as a direct browser source.

How is it going with bringing the tracklists to the Twitch app?
DJCake 3:52 PM - 29 June, 2021
Hey this looks good. Any chance of getting a nowplaying.txt file created so that third party stream apps like BUTT and AudioHijack can add it to a shoutcast or icecast stream?

There are a lot of online DJs using those protocols because bthey are supported on their chosen platforms and they do the job

Thanks

I can't seem to locate the token to associate Serato to the Twitch plugin. It's not there on the config screen at this point.

Hey Green Giant. I have the same problem, which got me here in the first place. I was just able to set up the extension and now this :D Good thing though, still works... I just can't make any changes to the extension for a few weeks now... At least now we know it's a global issue

Hello all. Twitch made some recent changes to their CSP rules which is causing issues with configuring the Serato Now Playing extension. We are working on a fix for this and will update the thread once it's resolved.

Hello Serato Support,

Is there any ETA on when this feature will be fixed? It's been approx. 2 months now since the Twitch extension stopped working properly and allowing you to configure it on their site, which makes it not work as expected. I understand it's due to Twitch changing their CSP rules as stated above, but when can we expect a fix to be released for this?

Thanks for your time

Hi Serato Support,

I'm trying to configure Serato Now Playing, and I can see a preview, change colors and text etc., but it does not display an activation code/key for me to place into my serato software. Is this an issue on just my end or global? Please let me know if I'm missing something.

Thanks.

I've been having the exact same problem for a few weeks now. If I could get a new extension code off of the extension's Twitch page, I'd be good to go, but the Serato "Now Playing" page is demanding it, and I can't generate one via Twitch.

I've recently started to try streaming sets on twitch and noticed a similar problem to previous users in which I can't find the activation key that the setup instructions indicate should appear at the top of the extension settings page. The version of the extension I'm attempting to set up is 1.0.6. Has this bug returned or is it a "me" problem (have tried using chrome and safari on Mac 12.2)?
