I made a thread back in 2022, while still on 1.4, asking the devs to make more of the vital functions for this VST available for Midi Controller mapping but these simple yet essential features are still not mappable. See below:
serato.com
2.0 was released but no changes were made to this vital aspect of the VST. So I am asking again, no begging, PLEASE Serato team, make the following functions available for Midi Controller mapping:
- Undo/Redo
- Select All/Deselect All
- Keyboard Mode On/Off
- Zoom In/Out
- Scrubbing Main Waveform for precise navigation of playhead position (Different from Seeking Waveform Overview, which is already available for mapping and navigates the entire loaded sample, beginning to end)
- Cue length control on currently selected Cue
- Eject Sample
- Reset song BPM/key to original (to quickly reset back to song's native BPM & key)
- x2 or 1/2 BPM
- Global Control - Levels, Filter, Attack, Release, Reverse for ALL PADs, at once, instead of changing these parameters for one pad at a time (This is already possible to do using "select all", but "select all" is not available for controller mapping)
- Active Control - Levels, Filter, Attack, Release, Reverse for ACTIVE PAD only. This allows users to press a key/pad and manipulate parameters for that key alone. (current midi mapping requires users to map each parameter on each cue to a separate midi signal, which is very inefficient.)
I am very happy that Stems has made it to Serato Sample but the limited Midi Controller mapping is really keeping this plugin from reaching it's fullest potential. It's not a big feature so it shouldn't be too difficult to implement. As I said before, these functions are built into the plugin.
Please make these features available on the next update 2.1.
Thank you again

Emphatic +1. This can't be hard to implement, and would let me keep off the mouse. Other than Serato, my workflow is mostly available from my MIDI controller. Amazing software, except for this significant issue. You'll surely do this eventually, because it would be absurd not to, so why not put someone on it now? Thanks in advance...

I second this.
One volume knob which auto selects the last pressed pad.
Not 64 volume knobs for 64 volumes.
A knob for, Volume, Sample Start & End, Attack, Release, Filter, Zoom, Scroll.

In fact, any non scrollable, should really just be a keyboard binding... and forget keyboard midi. Anyhow, whenever you pop open your virtual midi controller (on say logic) you lose keyboard control off the plugin.

....Sample, Start, and length rather than Start and End makes more sense.

It hurts when someone precious in our lives, leaves us. Great blog. Thank you for sharing. I wanted some ideas to add to my webpage Tierkrematorium Balingen. Thank you for sharing. You can check my webpage here: schoenhalde.de
