Creating Video Edits

I'm curious what people use to create video remixes. Ableton's beat mapping/stretching capabilities are second to none IMO but the video plugin is absolutely rough to deal with in terms of editing. Has anyone found a good system for working with video inside of Ableton that keeps the video from going black or flashing green? Does anyone have a better way to beat match, snap and edit video/audio? Just curious and wanting to learn from others.

I figured people edit the audio in a DAW like Ableton, or even and then chop up the video in Premiere, FCPX, DaVinci, et al.

Not really clear on how they would have the video timing match the audio on transition tracks outside of Ableton.

Yep, that's the fun part, you have to edit/cut/chop/stretch to video to match it.
Honestly something like CapCut might do it almost as good these days. Haven't had the patience lately to do video edits.

I've used a variety of tools while making video edits. It's a bit frustrating that NLEs like Premiere are brilliant at video, but not so good with audio. e.g. you can adjust the audio speed but only using percentages or stretching but without beatgrids or advanced keylock.
And DAWs like Ableton are great at audio but not video. e.g. only straight cuts and no transitions or VFX.
I wish Serato Studio would handle video but it doesn't. And I wish Mix Emergency could work in a linear way, similar to a DAW or NLE but you can only record videos in real-time. I have made several edits using SDJ and Mix Emergency this way though.
In my search to find a more DJ-friendly video editor I've come across a few tools.
Serato Visualizer
First up, there's Serato's Visualizer tool, but that's more for producing social media content than traditional music video edits.

This is a brand new tool from the makers of Mixed In Key. It's more for creating visuals for long-form DJ mixes rather than music video edits, but that's useful too.

This looks to be the most promising and I wish I'd found it sooner. It works with/through Ableton which is good news for you if you know how to use it. Unfortunately, I've never really got my head around Ableton so I've got a learning curve to climb if I want to take advantage, but this tool really does seem to offer what I've personally been loooking for.
Hopefully some of this might help you out. Especially EboSuite. I've been doing this for a while now and there's not as much help or info out there as you might think. Not from a DJ's perspective, anyway. Good luck.
