Serato Stems with a Club Set Up (CDJ 3000's)

What would be the best way to use Serato Stems at a club set up (CDJ 3000'S) assuming mixer doesn't have performance pads? Hook up CDJ's to laptop with Serato, laptop connected to mixer, and then use something like DDJ-SP1 or DDJ-XP2? Do I just need to connect the SP1/XP2 to laptop via USB and that's it or is there another crazy series of connections to make that work? Is there some other device out there that would be better? Thank you!

To answer some of your question… Yes this set up would work fine, the midi controllers you’ve mentioned will need some midi mapping and that’s really straightforward with the tutorial.

Personally I set up stems on my dicers and although I got teased by fellow DJs they’ve been all I needed. I say this in case you have not bought one of the mentioned units. I would only get them if you will utilise more pad modes.
