Video mapping?

Hi. First post here, YAY!! So as always we tinker with gear and such. I’m into video projection (just getting started). Did a search and there are lots of choices. I’m looking for something easy to learn and something that once I set the maps and launch video from my player those videos come out as mapped. I see some software that maps but uses its own graphics. That’s cool too but my main emphasis for now is to constrain my video to some basic shapes and play my videos as I DJ. The videos in Serato btw. What software is the go to?

Hi there! Welcome and congrats on your first post! Video projection sounds like a lot of fun. For beginners, MadMapper is a popular choice due to its user-friendly interface and powerful features. It supports 3D mapping and allows you to easily map your videos to various shapes.
Another great option is Resolume Arena, which is excellent for live performances and offers robust editing tools.
Both of these should help you constrain your videos to basic shapes and play them seamlessly as you DJ with Serato. Have you tried any of these, or is this your first foray into video projection?

Video mapping can definitely enhance your DJ setup by adding a dynamic visual element to your performance. For software, you may want to start with something user-friendly like MadMapper or HeavyM, both of which allow you to map video content to specific shapes and surfaces with ease. Once you set up your maps, you should be able to control your videos through Serato, ensuring seamless integration during your sets. For more information, check out amiroofingcontractors.com.
