Dear Serato Team,
I am a professional DJ based in Japan, where the SL4 interface is still widely used in many discos and clubs. However, I face significant challenges due to the lack of support for the SL4 interface in Serato DJ Pro versions beyond 2.5.5.
This situation creates a dilemma: in SL4-equipped venues, I must use version 2.5.5, but in clubs with the latest DJ equipment, I need version 3 or higher. As a result, I am forced to either use two laptops or install two versions of Serato on one laptop, which is highly inconvenient and disrupts my workflow during live performances.
Given that the SL4 interface remains a crucial part of many DJs' setups, I kindly request that you consider reinstating support for the SL4 in the latest Serato DJ Pro versions. It would greatly benefit DJs like myself who operate in a variety of venues and depend on seamless compatibility across different setups.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response and hope for a solution that supports the needs of your loyal customers.
Best regards,
koba-chan.

I was recently setting up a new laptop for djing and at least on Windows, if you have Serato DJ 2.5.5 installed and attempt to install Serato DJ 3.2.3 into a unique folder (ie: SeratoDJ 3) it will forcefully uninstall Serato DJ 2.5.5 without telling you, even thought 2.5.5 is installed to a different path.
Requiring 2 versions being installed at the same time to use older hardware (SL2,SL4) or newer features is problematic in general, but the automatic uninstall/removal of older Serato DJ 2.x versions during 3.x installs is a huge hindrance.
Only by renaming the existing folder to something dumb ie: "Serato DJ_OLD" THEN installing a 3.x version, THEN renaming the old install folder back to what it was works to keep both versions installed.. Completely stupid process.
SL4 still works fine in every other audio application in Windows 10/11 EXCEPT the software it was designed for.. Just another profit over customers move, again.

Unfortunately there will be no response from the Serato Team. That is one thing they do consistently lol

Why do WE have to rename a folder? Certainly if Serato is advising users to use old versions THEY should adjust the installer to not forcefully remove older version? Right?
The steps they outline to make 2 versions installed possible are completely stupid and this should be handled in the installer that THEY provide to users. Why a user should need to manually rename a folder when they've clearly specified a unique path is beyond me. But I'm used to things being kinda wonky around here lol

Yeah, I expect things to suck in general, but this seems like an easy place to get a win with users by adjusting the installer to not break existing installs without warning.
